Proline socket key 1/2" 6-point 14 mm (model 9017722) is a single 14 mm 6-point socket intended for use with 1/2" drive ratchets or handles. Manufactured from chrome‑vanadium steel and subjected to controlled hardening and tempering, the socket delivers the hardness and durability required for mechanical, automotive and maintenance work. The tool meets and exceeds the strength requirements of DIN 3124 and PN‑ISO 1711 and features the PRO‑DRIVE profile on the contact faces to reduce point loading on fastener heads.
The 6‑point design ensures secure engagement with nuts and bolts, minimizing rounding of fastener corners. Chrome‑vanadium construction and heat treatment provide long service life and resistance to wear. The PRO‑DRIVE profiled edges reduce excessive point pressure and protect fastener heads and mating surfaces. The 1/2" drive size offers compatibility with a wide range of ratchets and torque tools.
Select the 14 mm socket and fit it onto a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet, handle or torque wrench. Position the socket squarely on the fastener head to ensure full engagement of the 6 points. Apply torque smoothly to tighten or loosen the fastener. Avoid side loading and use appropriate torque settings when using a torque wrench.
Inspect the socket for damage before use and avoid striking the tool with hardened steel hammers. Keep the contact faces clean and store the socket in a dry place to prevent corrosion. Use the appropriate drive and correct torque values for the application to prolong tool life and protect fasteners.
