The Proline Tools ZR18378 ratchet wrench is a 3/8" square drive hand tool designed for general mechanical and maintenance work. It combines a compact ratchet head with an ergonomic two-component handle and a push-switch mechanism for quick direction changes. The tool is intended for tightening and loosening nuts and bolts where a 3/8" drive accessory is required.
The push-switch mechanism allows fast and reliable switching between tightening and loosening without removing the wrench from the fastener. The two-component handle provides an improved grip and reduces hand fatigue during repetitive tasks. Its compact head design improves access in confined spaces while maintaining adequate torque transfer for standard fastening jobs.
Select a compatible 3/8" socket and attach it to the ratchet drive. Place the socket over the fastener and operate the handle in a back-and-forth motion; use the push-switch to change rotation direction as needed. Apply steady, controlled force and avoid sudden impacts. For removal of stubborn fasteners, apply penetrating lubricant and allow it to work before increasing torque. After use, wipe the wrench clean and store it in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
Use the ratchet wrench with sockets and extensions made for a 3/8" drive. Avoid using cheater bars or excessive force beyond typical hand-applied torque. Periodically inspect the push-switch mechanism and the drive interface for wear; lubricate the ratchet mechanism lightly if movement becomes stiff. Store in a toolbox or tool cabinet to maintain handle condition and prevent dirt ingress.
