Socket wrench Proxxon 23 052 — 15 mm, chromium-vanadium steel, stainless finish
Proxxon 23 052 is a single 15 mm socket wrench crafted from chromium-vanadium (CrV) steel with a corrosion-resistant stainless finish. The tool is intended for fastening and unfastening standard 15 mm bolts and nuts in mechanical, automotive and household repair tasks. Its 72-tooth inner ring gear enables fine-angle ratcheting with as little as 5° of swing, while a high-quality CrV shaft with double nickel-plating and a matt chrome finish provides enhanced wear resistance and reliable torque transfer. The socket size is laser-marked for quick identification and the hinged ring side features a self-positioning action that improves access in tight locations.
The 72-tooth inner ring gear made of special high-alloy steel allows ratcheting in confined spaces with minimal movement, reducing the need for large handle arcs. Torque transmission exceeds common DIN/ISO standards, ensuring dependable performance under load. Double nickel-plating plus a matt chrome topcoat on the CrV shaft increases corrosion and wear resistance, while the stainless finish preserves appearance. Laser marking makes the 15 mm size easy to read. The hinged, self-positioning ring side reduces operator effort and improves access to recessed fasteners.
Select the 15 mm socket and place it squarely over the fastener head. Attach an appropriate drive handle or ratchet to the socket and ensure the hinged ring side is engaged correctly with the fastener. Apply steady, controlled torque in the required direction, using short swing motions when working in confined areas to take advantage of the 72-tooth ratcheting mechanism. After use, wipe the socket clean and store it in a dry environment to maintain the finish and prevent corrosion.
Do not exceed the recommended torque limits of the fastener or the drive tool being used; use a torque wrench when precise torque is required. Regularly inspect the socket for wear or deformation, especially on the ring teeth and contact surfaces. Keep the laser marking visible by cleaning off oil and dirt after use. For prolonged protection, apply a light anti-corrosion oil before storing.
