Multitool Proxxon 28 500 — 40 W, 20,000 OPM, AC-powered, 220 mm depth, 230 g
The Proxxon 28 500 multitool is a compact, AC-powered oscillating tool designed for cutting, grinding and polishing in light workshop and hobby applications. It delivers 40 W input power and operates at a constant idle oscillation rate of 20,000 OPM. With a slim 35 mm diameter body, 220 mm working depth and a weight of approximately 230 g, this handheld tool is intended for precision tasks on metal, plastic and wood where control and low mass are important. The tool uses high-quality MICROMOT steel collets for accurate clamping of cutters and features a balanced motor with ground spindle and collar bearing for smooth, quiet operation.
The compact form factor and low weight make the Proxxon 28 500 easy to handle for detailed work and extended use. The balanced motor and collar bearing provide a quiet, vibration-minimised run while the steel collets ensure secure, rattle-free clamping of bits and cutters. As an AC-powered multitool with a continuous 20,000 OPM speed and 40 W input power, it offers consistent performance for small-scale cutting, grinding and polishing tasks. Its slim 35 mm housing allows accurate access in confined areas.
Fit the appropriate MICROMOT steel collet and secure the chosen cutter or accessory according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Connect the tool to a suitable mains adapter providing the required 12 V, minimum 1.0 A output, then plug into the AC supply. Hold the slim body by the 35 mm housing and guide the tool steadily across the workpiece, applying light, controlled pressure suitable for the material and accessory in use. Because the tool runs at a fixed oscillation rate, select cutters and accessories that match the specified speed and the intended material to avoid overload or premature wear.
Use a recommended MICROMOT mains adapter with at least 1.0 A output (for example NG 2/S, NG 2/E or NG 5/E) to ensure stable power supply. Wear appropriate eye and respiratory protection when cutting or grinding metals, plastics or wood. Allow the balanced motor to reach operating speed before engaging the workpiece and avoid excessive side loads on the collet to preserve clamping accuracy and reduce vibration.
