Drill bit Proxxon 28758 — milling drill bit Ø 1 mm, 1 pc
Proxxon 28758 is a single milling drill bit with a diameter of 1 mm supplied as one piece. Manufactured from solid tungsten, this double-flute cutter has a fishtail profile that allows cutting to the centre for boring and clockwise cutting. The 2.35 mm (7/64") shank fits standard small-tool chucks and is intended for precision tasks such as model making, fine metalworking, engraving and milling of circuit boards. The cutter is compatible with rotary tools and micro mills that accept small-diameter bits, including the Micro Mill MF70, Micro Miller FF230 and Mill/Drill Head PF230.
The solid tungsten construction provides wear resistance and edge retention for small-diameter milling and drilling. The double-flute design and fishtail profile enable centre-cutting and controlled chip evacuation during clockwise rotation. Its small 1 mm diameter delivers precise results in fine-detail applications while the 2.35 mm shank ensures secure clamping in common micro-tool collets and chucks.
Install the 2.35 mm shank securely in the tool chuck or collet, ensuring concentric clamping and adequate tightening. Select appropriate spindle speed and feed for the work material: use higher speeds with light feed for plastics and PCBs, and moderate speeds with gentle feeds for metals. Operate with clockwise rotation and avoid axial overload; use light passes for precise depth control. Keep the workpiece secured and use coolant or air blast where suitable to remove chips and reduce heat when machining metals or composites.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and observe machine safety. For brittle materials such as glass or carbon fiber, reduce feed and use steady support to prevent chipping. When milling PCBs or delicate parts, start with test cuts to determine optimal speed and feed for clean results.
