PTFE Tube for Prusa Hotend — Prusa PSA-15790 for MK3S, MK2.5S, MMU2S is a precision PTFE liner designed to fit inside compatible Prusa hotend assemblies used in FDM 3D printers. The tube provides a low-friction pathway for filament between the extruder and the melt zone, helping to reduce jams and improve consistent filament feeding. It is intended for routine maintenance, replacement of worn PTFE tubing or when upgrading filament handling to maintain reliable extrusion performance.
The PTFE tube offers low friction and a smooth bore that minimizes filament stickiness and drag, which supports stable extrusion and reduces risk of clogging. Its heat-resistant properties and precise inner diameter ensure consistent filament guidance across common thermoplastic materials. The component is produced to match the dimensional requirements of the specified Prusa hotend assemblies, allowing straightforward installation and reliable fit.
Remove the print head or access the hotend following manufacturer service guidance. Extract the old PTFE liner and inspect the hotend throat, heatbreak and nozzle for wear or debris. Insert the new PTFE tube so that it seats correctly against the heatbreak and extruder drive path, trimming the ends if necessary to achieve the recommended length and a flush fit. Reassemble the hotend components, perform a cold and hot filament loading procedure, and run a test extrusion to verify smooth filament movement and correct feeding.
Use the PTFE liner for filaments within normal temperature ranges for PTFE-lined hotends (typical PLA, PETG and similar materials). Replace the tube at the first signs of deformation, discoloration, increased friction or recurring jams. When printing high-temperature or abrasive filaments, consider appropriate alternative liners or hardened components designed for elevated temperatures and abrasive resistance.
