3D printer filament Prusa PETG 1.75 mm 1 kg — Galaxy Black
Prusa PETG 1.75 mm 1 kg — Galaxy Black is a polyester-based filament formulated for FDM/FFF 3D printers. Supplied on a 1 kg spool with a nominal diameter of 1.75 mm, this PETG material offers a balance of mechanical strength, layer adhesion and ease of printing. Galaxy Black is a deep, dark shade designed for functional prototypes, durable parts and items intended for regular handling or exposure to mild chemicals and moisture.
Prusa PETG provides improved toughness compared with standard PLA while remaining easier to print than many engineering plastics. The filament features good interlayer bonding and low shrinkage, reducing warping on medium- to large-format prints. Its chemical resistance and impact strength make it suitable for parts that require durability and occasional cleaning. Delivered on a well-balanced spool, the filament is compatible with most consumer and prosumer 1.75 mm hotend setups.
Load the filament into a compatible 1.75 mm extruder and heat the hotend to the printer-specific PETG range. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and print temperature according to your printer and slicer recommendations, then print with moderate cooling and a suitable print speed for PETG. Bed adhesion can be achieved with a heated bed and common adhesion aids; tune first layer height and nozzle distance to ensure consistent extrusion. Allow printed parts to cool gradually to avoid deformation.
Use a print temperature and bed temperature adjusted for your machine and the chosen color; start from the manufacturer’s PETG guidelines and perform a temperature tower if needed. Store the spool in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant to maintain filament quality. When printing functional parts, inspect layer bonding and perform post-print annealing or finishing only if required by the application.
