Filament Prusa PLA 1.75 mm 1 kg – Jet Black
Prusa PLA filament 1.75 mm in Jet Black is a general-purpose biodegradable thermoplastic supplied on a 1 kg spool. Designed for FDM/FFF desktop 3D printers, this PLA offers reliable extrusion, low warping and good dimensional stability for a wide range of prints, from prototypes and scale models to household parts and educational projects. The 1.75 mm diameter is compatible with Prusa machines and many other common consumer printers, providing consistent feed and predictable layer quality when printed with recommended settings.
This Jet Black PLA filament provides easy printability and good layer adhesion, reducing failed prints and the need for extensive tuning. Its low warping characteristics and dimensional stability make it suitable for detailed parts and assemblies. As a biodegradable polyester-based material, it is easier to handle and post-process than many engineering plastics, and it prints well without requiring a heated enclosure. The consistent filament diameter supports stable extrusion and fewer clogs when using appropriate nozzle temperatures.
Load the filament onto the spool holder so it feeds smoothly into the extruder. Set the printer to the manufacturer-recommended nozzle temperature for PLA (typically 190–220 °C) and a heated bed temperature if used (around 40–60 °C), adjusting within these ranges as needed for your specific printer and model. Use standard print speeds and cooling settings for PLA; enable part cooling to improve overhangs and surface finish. Trim the filament tip at an angle before insertion and purge a small amount of filament to verify consistent flow before starting the main print.
Store the filament in a dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture; using desiccant packs or sealed containers will help maintain print reliability. For best results, calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings for your printer and nozzle size. If printing larger objects or long print runs, monitor the first layers and bed adhesion to prevent lift or deformation.
