PSG flap disc Star Flex STAL T29 125×22 mm grit 40 is an abrasive disc designed for metalworking tasks on angle grinders. With a 125 mm diameter and 22 mm bore, this T29-shaped flap disc combines angled abrasive flaps for profiling and blending welds with a grit 40 abrasive for relatively aggressive stock removal and surface preparation on steel and other ferrous metals.
The T29 geometry provides a consistent angled contact that makes it easier to follow contours and bevels while maintaining stable cutting performance. Grit 40 offers a balance between material removal rate and surface finish, allowing both rapid stock removal and subsequent smoothing. The layered flap construction distributes wear evenly, extending usable life compared with single-layer abrasive products and reducing the need for frequent disc changes.
This flap disc is intended primarily for metalworking; it is not optimized for woodworking, plastics, or fine finishing tasks where very smooth or mirror-like surfaces are required. For very fine finishing or polishing, a higher grit abrasive or a dedicated polishing product will be more appropriate.
Mount the flap disc securely on a compatible angle grinder with a 22 mm arbor. Follow the grinder manufacturer’s instructions for safe mounting and guard placement. Operate the grinder at the recommended speed range for the disc and apply moderate, even pressure; allow the abrasive flaps to do the cutting rather than forcing the disc. Use controlled, sweeping passes to blend welds or remove material and avoid prolonged dwell in a single spot to reduce heat buildup and avoid excessive wear. Replace the disc when abrasive performance diminishes or damage is visible.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, face shield, gloves, and hearing protection. Use the disc at recommended speeds and maintain steady motion to extend disc life and achieve consistent results.
