Rawlplug SDS+ Drill Bit 16 mm RT-SDSA-16/460

The Rawlplug SDS+ Drill Bit 16 mm RT-SDSA-16/460 is a professional drilling accessory designed for heavy-duty applications in concrete, masonry, and stone. Engineered to deliver reliable and precise performance, this drill bit is fully compatible with SDS-plus rotary hammers, making it an essential addition to any construction or renovation toolkit.

Advantages

This drill bit offers exceptional durability and structural strength, ensuring a long operational lifespan even under demanding site conditions. The specialized flute design facilitates rapid dust removal from the hole, which reduces friction and prevents overheating during extended use. The precision carbide tip ensures accurate centering and clean hole creation, minimizing the risk of slipping or material cracking.

Suitable for

• Drilling anchor holes in reinforced concrete and masonry
• Renovation and installation work in residential and commercial buildings
• General construction tasks requiring precision in stone and brick

When it may not be suitable

This tool is not designed for drilling through structural steel, thick metals, or wood, as the specialized geometry and impact mechanism of SDS-plus bits are optimized for masonry materials. It is also incompatible with standard non-hammer drill chucks without an adapter.

Key specifications

• Bit diameter: 16 mm
• Shank type: SDS-plus
• Application materials: Concrete, masonry, stone

How to use

Insert the shank securely into an SDS-plus rotary hammer chuck until it locks into place. Ensure the tool is firmly seated before starting the power tool. Apply steady, moderate forward pressure while letting the hammer mechanism do the work. Avoid excessive lateral force to prevent bit deflection or damage. Allow the bit to cool down periodically during continuous, heavy-duty drilling operations.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your power tool is equipped with an SDS-plus compatible chuck
• Confirm the required hole diameter and working length match your specific project requirements
• Assess the hardness of the target material to ensure the bit specification aligns with your application needs

Usage recommendations: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and ear protection, when operating rotary hammers. Inspect the drill bit for wear or micro-cracks before each use to maintain optimal performance and safety.
