The Rawlplug SDS+ Concrete Drill Bit 8mm RT-SDSA-8/160 is a professional-grade tool engineered for high-performance drilling in concrete, brick, and masonry. Designed for durability and precision, this drill bit features a specialized geometry that facilitates efficient dust removal, preventing overheating and ensuring consistent drilling speeds even in dense materials. Its robust construction makes it a reliable choice for demanding construction and renovation projects.
Advantages
This drill bit offers exceptional durability due to its high-quality steel composition, which resists wear and deformation during intensive use. The optimized flute design significantly improves debris extraction, allowing for faster and cleaner hole formation. Furthermore, the SDS+ shank ensures a secure and stable connection with compatible rotary hammers, minimizing vibration and enhancing user control during operation.
Suitable for
- Drilling anchor holes in concrete walls
- Installation of electrical conduits and piping
- Renovation work in masonry structures
- General construction tasks requiring precise 8mm diameter holes
When it may not be suitable
This drill bit is specifically optimized for concrete and masonry applications and is not intended for use on metal, wood, or hardened steel. Using this tool on materials other than those specified may cause premature wear of the cutting edge or damage to the drill bit.
Key specifications
- Diameter: 8mm
- Total length: 160mm
- Shank type: SDS+
- Material compatibility: Concrete, masonry, brick
How to use
Insert the drill bit into the SDS+ chuck of your rotary hammer until it clicks into place, ensuring it is securely locked. Position the tip of the bit against the marked drilling point and apply steady, moderate pressure while the tool is running. Allow the drill bit to perform the cutting action without forcing it, and periodically retract the bit from the hole to clear any accumulated dust if drilling deep holes.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that your power tool is compatible with the SDS+ shank system
- Ensure the 8mm diameter meets the requirements of your specific anchors or fasteners
- Check the required drilling depth against the total length of the bit
Usage recommendations
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety goggles and hearing protection, when operating power tools. Ensure the drill bit is cool before handling it immediately after use, as it may become hot during operation.
