Rawlplug RT-SDSR-8/110 SDS+ Drill Bit 8mm

The Rawlplug RT-SDSR-8/110 is an 8mm SDS+ drill bit designed specifically for drilling into concrete, masonry, and stone. Equipped with an SDSplus shank, this tool ensures secure chuck retention and efficient hammer energy transfer to maximize drilling performance during intensive construction and renovation tasks.

Advantages

The drill bit features a robust construction that delivers high durability and consistent reliability when working with hard mineral building materials. Its specialized shank design allows for rapid bit changes and prevents slippage under high-impact conditions, ensuring optimal transfer of kinetic energy from the rotary hammer directly to the drilling surface for clean and precise holes.

Suitable for

• Drilling into concrete walls and structures
• Making holes in solid and hollow masonry
• Penetrating natural and artificial stone
• Professional construction and renovation projects
• General installation work requiring an 8mm diameter

When it may not be suitable

This drill bit is not designed for drilling into metal, wood, or plastic materials, as the percussion mechanism and carbide tip geometry are optimized exclusively for mineral substrates. It is also unsuitable for rotary hammers that require a standard cylindrical chuck or a different shank system such as SDS-max.

Key specifications

• Diameter: 8 mm
• Working length: Standard SDS+ geometry
• Shank type: SDS-plus
• Target materials: Concrete, masonry, stone

How to use

Insert the shank of the drill bit securely into a compatible SDS-plus rotary hammer chuck until it clicks into place. Ensure the tool is firmly locked before starting work. Position the tip perpendicular to the targeted surface of concrete, masonry, or stone, and apply steady, moderate pressure while operating the hammer drill. Avoid applying excessive lateral force to prevent bending or damaging the bit.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your drilling tool is compatible with the SDS-plus shank system
• Check that the 8mm diameter matches your specific fastener or installation requirements
• Confirm that the intended application involves concrete, masonry, or stone rather than other material types

Usage recommendations: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and ear protection, when operating rotary hammers. Inspect the drill bit tip for wear or damage prior to each use to maintain drilling precision and safety.
