3D printing material ABS Renkforce RF-4738584
Renkforce RF-4738584 is a black ABS 3D printing filament supplied in a 1 kg pack. Designed for fused filament fabrication, this ABS material offers reliable layer adhesion and a smooth surface finish. The filament is formulated for mechanical strength and dimensional stability and is compatible with printers that support ABS and the required extrusion temperatures. Maximum recommended extruder tip temperature is 265 °C, which enables consistent melting and flow for accurate, durable prints.
This ABS filament provides strong interlayer bonding and good impact resistance while preserving detail and dimensional accuracy. Its black colour yields uniform, consistent output with minimal visible banding. The filament is suitable for producing functional prototypes, end-use parts and models that require a balance of stiffness and toughness. The material’s thermal properties allow it to withstand post-processing operations such as sanding and painting.
Load the filament into an FFF/FDM 3D printer that supports ABS printing and set the extruder temperature up to 265 °C as needed for reliable extrusion. Use a heated build plate and, where available, an enclosed print chamber to reduce warping. Adjust print speed, retraction and cooling settings to match your printer and model geometry; slower speeds and reduced part cooling generally improve layer adhesion and surface finish for ABS. Allow printed parts to cool gradually on the build plate before removal to minimize deformation.
For best results, use a heated bed set between 90–110 °C, apply an appropriate bed adhesive or surface, and consider an enclosure to maintain ambient temperature. When sanding or painting, start with coarse grit and progress to finer grits for a smooth finish; use solvents or vapour smoothing with caution and proper ventilation.
