3D printing material Renkforce RF-4738592
Renkforce RF-4738592 is a black PETG filament for FDM 3D printers with a filament diameter of 1.75 mm and a net weight of 1 kg. Formulated from Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG), this material combines the ease of printing associated with PLA and the strength and chemical resistance closer to ABS. The filament is intended for general-purpose prototyping and functional parts where improved toughness and good layer adhesion are required, while offering reliable feeding and consistent extrusion at recommended temperatures up to 240 °C.
PETG provides a balance of mechanical strength, impact resistance and chemical stability, with reduced warping compared to many engineering filaments. This black PETG exhibits good layer bonding and surface finish, making post-processing such as sanding or painting straightforward. The 1.75 mm diameter supports stable feeding on most consumer and prosumer FDM printers and its printability is suitable for users with varying levels of experience.
Load the filament into the printer according to the manufacturer's instructions for your FDM/FFF machine. Set the extruder temperature up to 240 °C and adjust bed temperature and cooling settings according to your printer and part geometry — typical starting settings for PETG are an extruder temperature between 230–240 °C, a heated bed around 60–80 °C and moderate part cooling. Ensure proper first-layer adhesion by leveling the build plate and adjusting the nozzle distance. Print at moderate speeds to maintain consistent extrusion and layer bonding.
Store the filament in a dry environment, ideally sealed with desiccant, to prevent moisture absorption which can cause bubbling and poor surface quality. For optimal results, calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings to reduce stringing while preserving layer adhesion. When printing functional parts, consider annealing or post-processing steps depending on dimensional and mechanical requirements.
