Video Signal Converter Roland VC-1-SH
The Roland VC-1-SH is a compact video signal converter that converts SDI input to HDMI output with support for resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels. It provides professional-grade video conversion that preserves the original video characteristics, including accurate blacks and highlights, while minimizing common conversion artifacts. The unit includes SDI (BNC) input, HDMI output and a TRS audio output, and operates from a 9 V supply in a small 150 mm x 130 mm x 30 mm enclosure.
The VC-1-SH delivers lossless-style conversion that maintains picture quality and avoids interlacing artifacts or signal errors often found in lesser converters. It includes a re-clocker to compensate for SDI signal attenuation over long cable runs and supports both level A and B 3G-SDI formats. The converter is HDCP-compliant for HDMI pass-through when applicable and supports selectable audio routing via embedding/de-embedding and digital AES/EBU compatibility where required.
Connect the SDI source to the VC-1-SH’s BNC SDI input, connect an HDMI cable from the unit’s HDMI output to your monitor or recorder, and connect audio to the TRS output if external monitoring of audio is required. Power the unit with a compatible 9 V supply. The converter will maintain the input video characteristics while converting the SDI signal to HDMI; if long SDI cable runs are used the on-board re-clocker helps restore signal timing.
Use high-quality SDI and HDMI cables and a stable 9 V power supply. For best results in professional installations, verify 3G-SDI level (A or B) compatibility with your source equipment and use the VC-1-SH for monitoring or downstream HDMI devices rather than as an SDI distribution amplifier.
