USB 2.0 to RS232 Adapter ROLINE 12.02.1001
ROLINE USB 2.0 to RS232 Adapter ROLINE 12.02.1001 provides a compact solution to connect RS232 serial devices to a PC USB port. The adapter supports USB 2.0/1.1/1.0 standards, offers a data transfer rate up to 115200 bit/s and includes 15 kV ESD protection on the RS232 port. Designed for DIN-rail mounting, it is powered via the Mini USB Type B connector (40 mA) and is compatible with a range of Windows operating systems.
The adapter combines wide OS compatibility and plug-and-play convenience with a compact DIN-rail ready form factor. It provides robust ESD protection for the RS232 interface and supports the standard serial baud rate up to 115200 bit/s. The unit uses a Mini USB Type B power and data connection, reducing cable clutter and simplifying installation in industrial or control cabinet environments.
Mount the adapter on a DIN rail and connect the DB9 male connector to the RS232 device. Plug a Mini USB Type B cable into the adapter and into a PC USB port to provide data and power. Install any required drivers if prompted by the operating system; many systems will recognize the adapter as a COM port for serial communication. Configure the host software serial port settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) to match the RS232 device, up to 115200 bit/s.
For reliable operation, use a shielded USB cable and avoid routing the USB cable alongside high-voltage power lines. Verify driver compatibility with your Windows version before deployment and ensure the RS232 device settings match the COM port configuration on the host.
