The ROLINE USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter (0.15 m) provides a simple way to connect 2.5" and 3.5" SATA HDDs or SSDs to a computer or notebook via a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. It supports SATA transfer modes up to 6.0 Gbit/s and is compatible with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 hosts, offering a maximum USB transfer rate of 5.0 Gbit/s. The adapter is black, compact and intended for quick external access to SATA drives.

How to use

Connect the 7-pin data and 15-pin power SATA plug to the target HDD or SSD, then plug the USB 3.0 connector into an available SuperSpeed USB port on the computer. The adapter supports hot-swapping, so drives can be connected or disconnected while the system is running. If the operating system does not automatically recognise the drive, check Disk Management (Windows) to assign a drive letter or initialise the disk.

Usage recommendations

For stable operation with 3.5" desktop drives, ensure an adequate external power source is available if required by the drive; this adapter provides the SATA power connection but some high-power drives may need additional powered adapters or direct PSU connection.
