Network Cable Tester HOBBES 13.01.3371 PoE Tester Black

The HOBBES 13.01.3371 PoE network cable tester is a portable tool for quick verification of cabling faults and Power over Ethernet presence. It detects discontinuity, open wires, shorts (wire-to-wire or wire-to-shield), miswiring and crossed pairs. The tester supports Cat5, coaxial and modular telephone wiring by comparing a transmitting end to a receiving end and includes adapters for coax testing. Advantages

How to use

Connect one end of the cable to the tester's primary RJ-45 socket and the other end to the remote unit or second RJ-45 socket. For coaxial cables, attach the supplied BNC-to-RJ45 adapter cables and connect to the corresponding connectors. Observe the two-line LED display as it sequences through the pins to determine continuity, wiring order and faults; multiple LEDs indicate a short. Use manual or automatic advance to step through pin mappings. To check for PoE, connect the live cable and read the indicator that shows PoE presence and whether the voltage is on pairs 1-2/3-6 (Endspan) or 4-5/7-8 (Midspan).

Usage recommendations
