The Midnight City shade provides a dark, pearlescent appearance with a glossy sheen that enhances the visual quality of decorative objects, display pieces and concept models. Supplied on a 1 kg spool, this filament is intended for users who need reliable layer adhesion and a smooth surface finish without the need for additional post-processing to achieve a polished look.
This PLA filament combines the dimensional stability and ease of printing associated with PLA with a silk-like, slightly reflective surface that reduces visible layer lines. It offers consistent diameter and feeding for most consumer FDM/FFF machines, good layer bonding for structural integrity in non-load-bearing parts, and a finish that highlights details and contours. The Midnight City color is formulated to deliver a uniform pearlescent effect across prints.
Load the filament spool onto the printer spool holder and feed the filament through the filament path to the extruder, following your printer manufacturer's instructions. Recommended printing temperatures for PLA typically range from about 190–220 °C; start in the middle of this range and adjust in small increments to optimise extrusion and surface appearance for the Magic Silk formulation. Use a heated bed if available (30–60 °C) to reduce warping, and calibrate retraction settings to minimise stringing while preserving the glossy finish. Print at layer heights and print speeds suitable for your model complexity to balance detail and sheen.
To preserve the silk-like surface, avoid aggressive sanding or high-temperature annealing; for a glossier result, optimise printing temperature and slow print speed rather than heavy post-processing. Store the filament in a dry, dust-free environment and use desiccant to maintain filament quality over time.
