Access Point Ruckus R650 Wi‑Fi 6 Dual‑Band 2.4/5 GHz, 2400 Mbit/s, PoE, White
The Ruckus R650 is a Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) dual‑band access point designed for high-density environments such as offices, classrooms and retail venues. It operates on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, supports up to six spatial streams (4x4 in 5 GHz and 2x2 in 2.4 GHz) and delivers peak data rates suitable for bandwidth‑intensive applications. Built‑in Bluetooth Low Energy and Zigbee radios enable basic IoT connectivity, while a 2.5 GbE Ethernet interface and Power over Ethernet (PoE) power simplify installation and ensure sufficient wired backhaul capacity.
The R650 provides increased client capacity and improved performance in dense deployments by using Wi‑Fi 6 technologies. Dual‑band, dual‑concurrent operation and support for multiple spatial streams raise overall throughput, while 2.5 GbE backhaul reduces the chance of wired bottlenecks. Integrated Bluetooth Low Energy and Zigbee radios allow converged Wi‑Fi and simple IoT use without additional external gateways. The device also supports contemporary security standards to help protect wireless connections.
The R650 is intended for medium to high density environments; it may be excessive for very small home networks or single‑office setups that do not require advanced client capacity or multi‑gigabit backhaul. For installations that need specialized industrial wireless features, extended temperature ranges, or carrier‑grade outdoor weatherproofing, a different model designed for those conditions would be more appropriate.
Install the R650 in a central location to maximize coverage for the targeted area and connect it to the network via the 1 GbE or 2.5 GbE Ethernet port. Power the unit using a compatible PoE switch or injector. Configure SSIDs, security settings and radio parameters using your Ruckus controller or management interface according to site requirements. Enable or configure the onboard BLE/Zigbee radios if you plan to use integrated IoT services, and monitor client load and throughput to tune placement and channel settings for optimal performance.
Place access points to provide overlapping coverage without large co‑channel overlap, enable Wi‑Fi 6 features where clients support them, and use the 2.5 GbE uplink when multiple high‑throughput APs share the same aggregation switch to prevent wired bottlenecks.
