Wide lens Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC for Samsung NX — 12 elements/10 groups, Black, 130 mm length
Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC for Samsung NX is a fast wide-angle manual-focus lens designed for full-frame and APS-C mirrorless/SLR systems. With a 35mm focal length and bright F1.4 aperture, the lens suits low-light, portrait and everyday wide-angle photography. The optical construction comprises 12 elements in 10 groups, including an aspherical glass element and two high refractive (HR) elements, with Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) to improve contrast and colour reproduction. The lens has a black finish, a 77mm filter thread and comes with front/rear caps, a reversible petal-type hood and a soft pouch.
The Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC combines a fast F1.4 aperture with a wide-angle 35mm perspective to deliver high resolution and strong sharpness across the frame. Aspherical and HR lens elements reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations while UMC helps maintain contrast and faithful colours. An 8-blade circular aperture produces smooth bokeh, and a floating optical design preserves image quality at close focus distances. The Canon AE version includes an aperture control motor and CPU chip to allow camera-controlled Auto Exposure (AE) and focus indication when used on compatible bodies.
Attach the Samyang 35mm F1.4 to a compatible Samsung NX camera mount and secure the lens until it locks. Use manual focus ring for precise focusing; the wide F1.4 aperture enables shallow depth of field—stop down the aperture to increase depth of field for landscapes. When mounted on a Canon AE-compatible body, the internal aperture motor and CPU enable aperture control from the camera and allow Auto Exposure (AE). Always use the supplied petal-type hood to reduce flare and protect the front element; store the lens with caps and soft pouch when not in use.
For portraits and subject separation use wide apertures (near F1.4–F2.8) to achieve smooth bokeh. For landscape and architecture, stop down to F8–F16 to maximise sharpness and depth of field. Use a tripod for long exposures or in very low light and clean filters and contacts regularly to maintain image quality.
