Scangrip MAGNEFIX N bench vice accessory is a hardened aluminium neutral jaw designed to fit workshop vises and provide secure clamping for rough to medium-finish and machined workpieces. Supplied as a replacement or upgrade jaw, this accessory is intended to protect both the vise and the clamped components while improving grip and stability during repair, assembly, and maintenance tasks on small parts made of metal, plastic or mixed materials.
The hardened aluminium construction offers a balance of durability and surface protection, reducing the risk of marking or deforming delicate workpieces. Its neutral profile makes it suitable for general clamping where a flat, non-specialised jaw face is required. The accessory is lightweight yet robust, enabling easy installation and minimal additional load on the vise while providing consistent holding force for repetitive workshop tasks.
Install the MAGNEFIX N jaw by removing the existing jaw insert from the vise and fitting the accessory in the original mounting position, ensuring secure fastening according to the vise manufacturer's instructions. Position the workpiece between the jaws and tighten the vise until the workpiece is held firmly without excessive compressive force. Check alignment and adjust as needed to maintain parallel clamping surfaces and avoid slippage during operations such as filing, drilling or light machining.
Use the neutral aluminium jaw when a flat, non-marking contact surface is preferred; avoid using it for extremely soft or highly finished surfaces where alternative softer or coated jaws may better protect the workpiece. Regularly inspect the jaw face for wear and replace when surface damage could compromise clamping stability. Follow general vise safety: secure the vise to the bench, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and avoid over-tightening.
