Schneider Electric XALK178E Emergency Stop Push Button Station, 1NO+1NC, IP65
The Schneider Electric XALK178E is a high-performance emergency stop push button station engineered for critical safety applications in industrial environments. This control station features a highly visible yellow enclosure and a prominent mushroom-shaped operator, designed for immediate identification and rapid activation during emergency situations. The device is equipped with one normally open (1NO) and one normally closed (1NC) contact block, providing versatile integration into safety circuits. Its robust construction ensures long-term reliability and durability in demanding operational settings.
The primary benefit of this emergency stop station is its exceptional durability and resistance to environmental factors, thanks to its IP65 ingress protection rating. This ensures the internal components remain protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it suitable for harsh industrial conditions. The turn-to-release mechanism provides a secure and intuitive way to reset the system after an emergency stop has been triggered, preventing accidental reactivation. Its compact design allows for easy installation in space-constrained areas while maintaining high visibility for operators.
This device is not intended for use in environments requiring higher levels of ingress protection, such as full submersion or high-pressure steam cleaning, which would exceed the IP65 rating. It is also not designed for hazardous areas where explosion-proof equipment is mandatory.
The station should be mounted on a flat, stable surface using the provided mounting points. Ensure that the electrical connections are made by a qualified professional in accordance with local safety regulations, wiring the 1NO and 1NC contacts into the machine's emergency stop circuit. In an emergency, press the mushroom head firmly to break the circuit and stop the machinery. To reset the device, rotate the mushroom head in the direction indicated by the arrows until it releases back to its original position.
Regularly inspect the push button for physical damage and perform periodic functional tests to ensure the emergency stop circuit triggers correctly when the button is pressed.
