Double-sided Adhesive Tape Scotch 665 12 mm x 23 m – clear bonding tape

Scotch 665 double-sided adhesive tape, 12 mm x 23 m, is a thin, clear bonding tape intended for permanent joins and neat mounting tasks. The tape features a consistent adhesive layer on both sides and a low-profile carrier that keeps seams discreet. It is designed for use on paper, card, photos and many smooth surfaces where a nearly invisible, permanent bond is needed for crafts, office mounting and light fixtures.

Advantages

The tape provides a permanent, clear bond with a thin profile that minimizes visibility between joined materials. Its consistent adhesive layer ensures uniform holding power along the length of the roll and allows accurate positioning during application. The narrow 12 mm width and 23 m length balance precision and economy, making it practical for repeated use in home, school and office tasks.

Suitable for

• Paper-to-paper joins, scrapbooking and photo mounting
• Attaching lightweight signs, labels and nameplates
• Minor repairs of torn edges and hems on lightweight materials
• Crafts, model making and general office mounting tasks

When it may not be suitable

This tape is intended for permanent, lightweight bonding and is not formulated for heavy structural loads or outdoor applications where prolonged exposure to moisture, heat or UV is expected. It may not adhere reliably to very rough, heavily textured or oily surfaces, and is not recommended for mounting heavy or load-bearing fixtures.

Key specifications

• Width: 12 mm
• Length: 23 m
• Color/appearance: clear, low-visibility
• Adhesion type: double-sided permanent adhesive
• Profile: thin / low bulk

How to use

Prepare and clean the surfaces to remove dust, grease or moisture. Cut the required length of tape and apply it to one surface, pressing firmly along the strip to ensure full contact. Remove the protective liner if present and align the second surface carefully before pressing both surfaces together evenly. For best results, apply pressure across the joint and allow time for the bond to set. Avoid repositioning after full contact because the permanent adhesive will secure quickly.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended application: suitable for lightweight, permanent bonds on smooth surfaces
• Surface condition: clean, dry and free of oil for optimal adhesion
• Not suitable for heavy loads, wet or highly textured surfaces
• Roll length and width: 12 mm width for precision joining; 23 m length for multiple uses

Usage recommendations

Store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For best adhesion, apply at room temperature and press firmly along the whole length of the tape during application. Test a small area if using on sensitive materials or where surface compatibility is uncertain.
