Circular Polarizing Filter SEAGULL CPL Slim 49mm for Camera and Video Lens
Circular Polarizing Filter SEAGULL CPL Slim 49mm for Camera and Video Lens
The SEAGULL CPL Slim 49mm is a circular polarizing filter designed for cameras and video lenses with a 49mm threaded front. The filter's slim profile minimises vignetting on wide-angle optics while reducing surface reflections from water, glass and foliage. Rotating the front element changes the polarization angle, allowing control over glare and improving contrast and color saturation in landscape, architectural and outdoor photography and videography.
The slim metal frame reduces the chance of unwanted vignetting on wide-angle lenses while maintaining a secure screw-in fit. Optical glass and the circular polarizing layer cut through reflections and haze to produce truer skies and richer greens without altering exposure settings. The rotating mount provides smooth, precise adjustment of polarization strength so users can fine-tune the effect in-camera for both stills and motion capture.
Screw the CPL Slim 49mm onto the lens front thread until it is secure but not overtightened. Compose the shot and then rotate the filter’s outer ring while observing the viewfinder or live view to find the desired level of polarization. Adjust slowly to control the reduction of reflections and the increase in color saturation. For video, make small, deliberate rotations to avoid abrupt changes in polarization during recording.
Use the filter at mid-range polarizing angles for the most natural results; avoid full rotation when shooting into the sun as polarization effects can be reduced. Store the filter in a protective case when not in use and clean with a lens-safe microfiber cloth and appropriate cleaner to maintain optical performance.
