Circular Polarizing Lens Filter SEAGULL CPL Slim 55mm for Camera and Video
Circular Polarizing Lens Filter SEAGULL CPL Slim 55mm for Camera and Video
SEAGULL CPL Slim 55mm is a circular polarizing lens filter designed for cameras and video rigs with a 55mm front thread. The filter uses a polarizing element in a slim metal frame to reduce reflections from non-metallic surfaces, increase color saturation and improve contrast. The slim profile is intended to minimise vignetting when used on wide-angle lenses while preserving reliable thread compatibility for stacking with other 55mm accessories.
The slim metal frame reduces the risk of vignetting on wide-angle optics while keeping overall filter thickness low. The circular polarizer cuts surface reflections on glass, water and foliage, helping to reveal deeper sky tones and richer greens without digital processing. Optical performance improves contrast and color fidelity in scenes with strong reflection or haze. The standard 55mm thread allows straightforward mounting and compatibility with common lens caps and step-up rings.
Attach the SEAGULL CPL Slim 55mm to a lens with a 55 mm front thread by screwing the filter clockwise until lightly snug; avoid over-tightening. Rotate the outer ring while looking through the viewfinder or at the live-view screen to adjust the degree of polarization until the desired reduction of reflections and enhancement of sky or foliage contrast is achieved. When stacking filters, check for vignetting on wide-angle lenses and use the slim frame to minimise it. Clean the filter surface with a soft microfiber cloth before and after use to maintain image quality.
For strongest effect, use the polarizer at 90 degrees to the sun; rotate the filter slowly to find the optimal polarization level. When shooting with very wide-angle lenses, inspect the corners of the frame for any vignetting and, if necessary, remove additional stacked filters. Store the filter in a protective case when not in use to prevent scratches and dust buildup.
