SEAGULL camera filters set 72mm — CPL, UV and Grey Graduated (72 mm)
SEAGULL camera filters set 72mm — CPL, UV and Grey Graduated (72 mm)
SEAGULL camera filters set 72mm includes three essential screw-in filters for lenses with 72 mm threads: a circular polarizer (CPL), a UV protection filter and a grey graduated filter. The set is designed to reduce reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces, protect the front element of the lens, cut ultraviolet haze and help balance exposure between bright skies and foregrounds in landscape photography. Each filter mounts directly to the lens thread and is suitable for travel and outdoor use where compact, quick-to-fit optical accessories are required.
The circular polarizer improves color saturation and reduces surface reflections without affecting autofocus or metering. The UV filter provides continuous front-element protection while reducing atmospheric haze at shorter focal lengths. The grey graduated filter darkens only part of the frame to balance sky and ground exposures, allowing longer exposures or reduced highlights without altering foreground exposure. All three filters are compatible with 72 mm lens threads and are lightweight for comfortable field use.
Screw the required filter onto the lens front thread and secure it by hand; do not overtighten. Rotate the CPL filter while looking through the viewfinder or live view until unwanted reflections are reduced and color saturation meets your preference. Position the grey graduated filter so the darker portion aligns with the bright sky, adjusting vertical placement for horizon level and rotation for tilted horizons. Leave the UV filter mounted permanently if continuous front-element protection is desired, removing it only for cleaning or when a specific optical effect is required.
Clean filters with a soft microfiber cloth and, when necessary, use lens-cleaning solution to avoid scratches. When using the grey graduated filter on wide-angle lenses, check for vignetting and use the slim ring side to reduce it. Store filters in their protective cases to prevent dust and mechanical damage between uses.
