The lens features an 18-element/14-group optical design, a variable aperture of F3.5–6.3, a 72 mm filter thread and a petal-shaped hood. With a maximum magnification ratio up to 1:2 across part of the zoom range and a slim, lightweight body, the lens is designed to deliver flexible framing from sweeping landscapes to tight close-ups while maintaining comfortable handling and fast autofocus driven by a High-response Linear Actuator (HLA).
