Flap disc Silver 125 mm P40 convex abrasive 10052
The Silver Flap Disc 125 mm P40 convex abrasive (model 10052) is a coated abrasive wheel designed for use with angle grinders. With a 125 mm diameter and coarse P40 grit, this convex-shaped flap disc is intended for aggressive material removal, shaping and surface preparation on metal and other rigid substrates. The overlapping abrasive flaps conform to contours while maintaining a consistent cutting action for faster stock removal and smoother transitions on curved surfaces.
The convex flap profile improves access to contoured and curved areas and helps control contact pressure during grinding. Coarse P40 grit delivers rapid material removal and efficient shaping of welds, edges and excess material. The flap construction exposes fresh abrasive as it wears, extending useful life compared with a single-layer abrasive disc. The 125 mm diameter balances working area and maneuverability for standard angle grinders.
Mount the flap disc onto a compatible 125 mm angle grinder according to the grinder manufacturer's instructions, ensuring the disc is correctly secured and the grinder is unplugged or the battery removed during fitting. Start at low speed to check disc alignment and balance, then work at the recommended operating speed. Apply moderate, even pressure and move the disc along the workpiece to avoid gouging; allow the abrasive to do the cutting. For best results on metal, keep the disc moving continuously across the surface and avoid prolonged dwell in one spot.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves, hearing protection and respiratory protection when needed. Select P40 grit for aggressive stock removal and switch to finer grits for finishing. Check the angle grinder's maximum speed rating and do not exceed the disc's recommended RPM. Store discs in a dry environment and inspect for damage before each use.
