Flap Disc Silver PROFI-FLEX 125 mm P100, model 10074 by Silver
Flap Disc Silver PROFI-FLEX 125 mm P100 (model 10074 by Silver) is an abrasive accessory made for use with standard 125 mm angle grinders. Designed with P100 grit, the disc balances material removal and surface refinement, providing medium-fine grinding performance on carbon steel, stainless steel and similar metals. It is suitable for tasks such as weld blending, edge rounding, deburring and preparing surfaces for subsequent finishing or painting. The disc mounts to common 125 mm backing pads and is intended for workshop, fabrication and maintenance applications where controlled stock removal and a consistent finish are required.
The flap design offers continuous abrasive exposure as flaps wear, maintaining cutting action and reducing chatter compared with rigid grinding wheels. P100 abrasive provides a compromise between cutting speed and surface quality, enabling efficient removal of scale, light corrosion and weld material while leaving a relatively uniform surface profile. Compatibility with standard 125 mm backings ensures quick replacement and minimal downtime. The disc construction helps reduce heat build-up and minimizes the risk of excessive material gouging when used with correct speed and pressure.
Install the flap disc onto a compatible 125 mm backing pad and secure it according to the grinder manufacturer’s instructions. Operate the angle grinder at the recommended speed range for the disc and the workpiece material. Apply steady, even pressure and move the disc across the surface with smooth, overlapping passes to avoid gouging. Allow the abrasive flaps to wear naturally; do not force excessive pressure, which can shorten disc life and increase heat. Use appropriate coolant or intermittent contact when working on heat-sensitive materials.
Observe personal protective equipment requirements: eye and face protection, gloves, hearing protection and respiratory protection as needed. Ensure the grinder’s guard is in place and that the disc is suitable for the grinder’s maximum speed. Store discs flat in a dry environment and replace any disc that shows significant damage before use.
