Overlock sewing machine SINGER 14HD854 Heavy Duty Electric 120W Grey
The SINGER 14HD854 Heavy Duty overlock (serger) combines robust construction and practical features to handle a wide range of fabrics. It has a heavy-duty metal frame and a 60% larger cutting knife than other Singer sergers for easier trimming of thicker materials. The machine sews and finishes seams simultaneously, offering up to 1,300 stitches per minute and the option to use 2, 3 or 4 threads for multiple stitch combinations. A color-coded threading diagram is printed on the machine and it arrives pre-threaded for convenience. Two built-in LED lights and a carry handle add visibility and portability.
The larger upper knife and removable-position feature let you cut through thick fabrics or disable trimming when needed. The sturdy metal frame reduces vibration and provides stable, skip-free sewing. Adjustable differential feed ensures even fabric feeding, preventing puckering on lightweight or stretch materials and controlling stretch on bias-cut fabrics. Multiple stitch types (including rolled hems, blind hems, flatlocking and edge finishing) and a high-performance 120W motor support heavy-duty and professional tasks. The free arm enables sewing in hard-to-reach areas.
Place the machine on a stable table and connect it to an appropriate power supply. Follow the color-coded threading diagram printed on the machine; the unit ships pre-threaded but re-thread as needed when changing thread types or colors. Set the number of threads and stitch type according to the project (2–4 threads available) and adjust the differential feed to suit fabric stretch and thickness. Use the movable upper knife to disable trimming when you need to preserve seam allowance. Use the free arm to sew tubular items or hard-to-reach areas. Start sewing at a moderate speed, increase as appropriate, and trim excess thread when finished.
For best results with heavy or multiple-layer fabrics, use the larger cutting knife and slow, steady feeding. Adjust the differential feed when working with lightweight or stretch fabrics to avoid puckering or excessive stretching. Regularly clean lint from the knife area and oil according to Singer maintenance instructions to maintain performance.
