Skil 1960 DA 360° Crossline Laser Level, 20 m Range, 635 nm, Self-levelling

The Skil 1960 DA 360° Crossline Laser Level is a professional-grade tool engineered for high-precision alignment and layout tasks. This device projects a full 360-degree horizontal line and a vertical line, ensuring comprehensive coverage for various indoor construction and renovation projects. With its compact design and integrated lithium-ion battery, it provides reliable performance and portability for professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike.

Advantages

The primary benefit of this laser level is its 360-degree projection capability, which allows for simultaneous alignment across an entire room without the need to reposition the tool. The self-levelling function automatically corrects minor tilts, ensuring accuracy within 0.1 mm/m. Its integrated battery technology eliminates the need for frequent battery replacements, offering a consistent 10-hour runtime on a single charge. The lightweight construction and standard tripod thread make it highly versatile for mounting on various surfaces or stands.

Suitable for

• Installing wall tiles and cabinets
• Hanging pictures or shelving units
• Aligning electrical outlets and switches
• Interior design and renovation projects
• Suspended ceiling installation

When it may not be suitable

This device is designed primarily for indoor use and may not be suitable for outdoor projects where direct sunlight can significantly reduce the visibility of the laser beam. It is not intended for long-range surveying or heavy-duty outdoor construction work where extreme environmental conditions are present.

Key specifications

• Operating range: 20 m
• Levelling accuracy: 0.1 mm/m
• Self-levelling range: 8°
• Battery type: Integrated Lithium-Ion
• Runtime: 10 hours
• Tripod thread: 1/4 inch
• Weight: 400 g

How to use

To operate the Skil 1960 DA, place the device on a flat surface or mount it onto a compatible 1/4-inch tripod. Switch the unit on to activate the self-levelling mechanism. Once the laser lines stabilize, the device is ready for use. If the surface is tilted beyond the 8-degree self-levelling range, the laser will indicate the error, requiring manual adjustment of the base. After completing your tasks, ensure the device is switched off and stored in a secure, dry place.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the 20-meter range is sufficient for your specific workspace requirements.
• Ensure you have a compatible 1/4-inch tripod if you plan to use the device at varying heights.
• Consider that this model is optimized for indoor visibility and may require a laser receiver for outdoor use if visibility is compromised.

Usage recommendations

For optimal accuracy, always ensure the device is placed on a stable surface or a high-quality tripod. Regularly clean the laser aperture with a soft, dry cloth to maintain clear line projection and prevent dust accumulation.
