Chisel (SDS-Plus) Smart flat narrow 20×250 mm
Smart SDS-Plus flat narrow chisel 20×250 mm is a tool designed for use with SDS-Plus rotary hammers to perform chiselling, grooving and removal of tiles, mortar and concrete. Its narrow flat profile concentrates impact energy to enable controlled material removal and precise shaping in renovation, demolition and masonry tasks. The 250 mm length provides reach for shallow embedded materials while the 20 mm width balances cutting surface and focused force for clean chiselling lines.
The narrow flat design directs impact force to a confined edge, improving accuracy when cutting grooves or removing small sections of material. Compatibility with SDS-Plus systems ensures quick, secure mounting and stable performance under repeated impact. The hardened steel construction and heat treatment increase wear resistance and maintain edge form during continuous use, reducing the need for frequent replacement.
Insert the chisel into the SDS-Plus chuck of a rotary hammer and secure according to the tool manufacturer's instructions. Position the chisel edge against the work surface at the required angle and apply steady pressure while operating the hammer in impact mode. For groove cutting, guide the chisel along the intended line with controlled passes; for tile or mortar removal, chip away small sections progressively rather than attempting large removals in a single pass. Periodically stop to inspect the chisel edge and the workpiece to ensure correct progress and alignment.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear protection and dust mask. Select an SDS-Plus rotary hammer with suitable impact energy for the material; lower energy settings reduce risk of over‑breaking in delicate work. If the chisel becomes dull or shows significant wear, replace or re‑sharpen following manufacturer guidance to maintain performance and safety.
