Chisel SDS‑Max flat wide 50×400 mm Smart 12-015
Chisel SDS‑Max flat wide 50×400 mm Smart 12-015
Flat wide SDS‑Max chisel Smart 12-015 with a 50 mm blade width and 400 mm overall length. This chisel is designed for use with SDS‑Max rotary hammers and demolition hammers for heavy-duty material removal and surface preparation. The tool is suitable for tasks that require a broad striking face and robust impact resistance, enabling efficient chiselling and splitting of masonry and concrete.
The chisel features a 50 mm wide blade that provides an extended working area for removing tiles, mortar and thin layers of concrete. Its 400 mm overall length offers greater reach and leverage when working in deeper joints or recessed areas. Constructed to withstand repeated impacts from SDS‑Max rotary and demolition hammers, the design balances durability with precise material removal. The flat geometry allows controlled force distribution across the blade edge for consistent results during chiselling and splitting.
Insert the SDS‑Max shank into the rotary or demolition hammer according to the power tool manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring a secure lock before operation. Position the flat chisel blade against the work surface at the required angle and apply controlled hammering action to remove material. For tile removal, begin beneath a loose edge or grout line and work progressively across the surface. Maintain steady pressure and allow the hammer’s impacts to do the cutting; avoid levering the chisel at extreme angles to reduce stress on the tool and shank connection.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and gloves. Select a rotary or demolition hammer with SDS‑Max compatibility and an impact energy rating suitable for the material and application. Check the chisel regularly for wear or deformation and replace when the cutting edge is excessively rounded or the shank shows damage. Store the chisel in a dry place to prevent corrosion when not in use.
