Drill bit Smart SDS-plus 8×460/400 for concrete
Drill bit Smart SDS-plus 8×460/400 for concrete
Drill bit Smart SDS-plus 8×460/400 for concrete is a long masonry drill designed for rotary and hammer drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete and other masonry materials. The SDS-plus shank ensures a secure fit in compatible rotary hammers, while the flute geometry promotes efficient removal of dust and debris during drilling. With an overall length of 460 mm and an effective working length of 400 mm, this bit is suited to make deep anchor holes and through-drilling in construction and renovation tasks.
The solid carbide tip provides durability and consistent cutting performance in hard materials. SDS-plus connection delivers fast, tool-free insertion and reliable transmission of impact energy from the rotary hammer to the bit. Optimised flute design reduces clogging and helps maintain drilling speed, while the long working length allows installation of anchors and dowels at greater depths without changing to extensions.
Insert the SDS-plus shank into the compatible rotary hammer until it locks. Select the hammer drilling or rotary-with-impact mode on the tool according to the material. Apply steady pressure and keep the drill aligned with the desired hole axis; avoid excessive lateral force. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear accumulated dust for faster progress and to reduce heat build-up. After completing the hole, remove the bit by retracting from the chuck and clean the flutes before storage.
Use with a rotary hammer that supports SDS-plus shanks and select appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask. For best results in reinforced concrete, start at lower speed to locate reinforcement and then proceed with controlled hammering. Replace the bit when cutting performance declines or when the tip shows visible wear.
