Diamond drill bit Smart 65 mm for porcelain stoneware — Smart 25-650
Diamond drill bit Smart 65 mm for porcelain stoneware — Smart 25-650 is a large-diameter diamond-tipped core bit designed for creating precise circular holes in hard ceramic materials such as porcelain stoneware (gres) and glazed tiles. The bit’s 65 mm cutting diameter allows clean openings for pipes, fixtures and ventilation ducts without excessive chipping when used with appropriate drilling technique and cooling. It is intended for use with drills or rotary tools that accept core bits and that can be used in wet or controlled-dust conditions.
The diamond cutting edge provides durability and consistent cutting performance on dense, abrasive tile surfaces. The 65 mm diameter delivers large, accurate holes in a single pass, reducing the need for step drilling. The bit is suitable for wet drilling, which helps to cool the cutting edge and extend tool life, and it can also be used with dust-control methods when wet cooling is impractical. Its construction is optimized for minimal chipping on glazed and porcelain tiles when operated at appropriate speed and pressure.
Secure the tile or workpiece and mark the hole center. Fit the diamond core bit into a compatible drill or rotary tool that provides steady rotational speed and, if possible, a guide or drill stand to maintain perpendicular alignment. Begin drilling at low speed with light, steady pressure to establish the cut, then increase speed moderately while maintaining cooling with a steady water supply or using a dust-extraction method. Periodically lift the bit to clear slurry when wet drilling. After cutting, allow the bit to cool before storing.
Use protective equipment (eye protection, gloves) and ensure the drill’s chuck and speed are suitable for core bits. For best results on porcelain stoneware, use continuous water flow to cool the diamond segment and reduce chipping. When wet drilling is not possible, use a vacuum dust-extraction system and lower speeds. Avoid excessive side pressure to preserve the diamond edge and obtain a clean hole.
