Diamond drill bit for porcelain Smart SM-25-680 68 mm M14
Diamond drill bit Smart SM-25-680 68 mm M14 is engineered for cutting precise holes in porcelain and other hard ceramic materials. The 68 mm cutting diameter and diamond cutting edge deliver efficient material removal and a smooth hole profile. The M14 thread allows attachment to compatible angle grinders or dedicated drill holders. The tool is intended for tasks such as fitting sanitary fixtures, creating openings in wall tiles and preparing mounting points in ceramic surfaces.
The diamond cutting surface ensures consistent performance and extended wear life compared with conventional carbide bits when working with porcelain and vitrified ceramics. The 68 mm diameter provides a single-step solution for larger openings required by plumbing fixtures and drains. The M14 threaded shank offers secure mounting in angle grinders or adapters, enabling stable rotation and controlled cutting. The design promotes reduced chipping and cleaner edges around the hole when used with appropriate technique and cooling.
Mark the desired hole position on the porcelain surface and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Fit the diamond drill bit into an angle grinder or holder with an M14 thread and ensure the tool is tightened according to the machine manufacturer’s instructions. Begin drilling at low speed to establish a precise start point, using a light, steady feed force. Maintain cooling by applying water to the cutting area throughout the operation; intermittently withdraw the bit to clear debris and allow the bit to cool. Increase speed gradually once the bit has established a cut, keeping steady pressure until the hole is complete. After drilling, inspect the edges and remove any loose particles.
Use continuous water cooling to extend bit life and reduce chipping. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and a dust mask. Avoid excessive feed pressure and high speed without cooling, as this can damage the diamond segments and the workpiece. For through-holes in thin tiles consider supporting the tile from behind to minimize breakout on the exit side.
