Drill bit Smart365 SDS-plus rebar 18 x 250/300 mm
The Smart365 SDS-plus rebar drill bit with an 18 mm diameter is built for rotary hammer drills that accept SDS-plus shanks. Available in overall lengths of 250 mm and 300 mm, this drill bit is designed specifically for drilling into reinforced concrete and masonry where occasional contact with rebar is expected. The cylindrical SDS-plus shank ensures secure fitting in compatible hammer drills, while the hardened cutting head and flute geometry support efficient dust removal and reliable drilling performance during repeated use on construction sites and professional jobs.
This SDS-plus rebar drill bit combines robust materials and machining to resist wear when drilling concrete and encountering reinforcement. The hardened tip improves penetration into masonry and steel rebar without rapid dulling. The SDS-plus cylindrical shank offers fast, secure insertion and reliable power transfer from the rotary hammer to the cutting head. Available in two overall lengths, it provides flexibility for different drilling depths while maintaining consistent drilling diameter and stability.
Install the SDS-plus shank into the rotary hammer chuck until it locks. Select the hammer mode appropriate for concrete drilling. Position the drill bit perpendicular to the work surface and start at low speed to establish a guide point, then apply steady pressure with the tool while maintaining hammer action. Use short withdrawal strokes periodically to clear dust from the hole and avoid overheating. When drilling through reinforcement, maintain control and let the hardened tip work through the material rather than forcing the tool.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, hearing protection and dust mask when drilling concrete. Use compatible SDS-plus rotary hammers with proper power ratings for 18 mm bits. Replace the bit when tip wear reduces drilling efficiency or when chipping of the cutting head is observed. For extended life, avoid excessive lateral pressure and ensure proper cooling pauses during intensive use.
