Residual Current Protection Tester Sonel MRP-201 (model WMPLMRP201)
The Sonel MRP-201 (WMPLMRP201) is a portable residual current protection tester designed for on-site verification of all types of residual-current devices (RCDs) including type AC, A and B, as well as no-delay, short-delay and selective RCDs. It measures trip current and trip time as a function of differential current, protective conductor resistance and touch voltage. Measurements can be performed individually or in automatic series modes, and the instrument can record simultaneous current and time during a single RCD actuation. The tester stores measurement results and communicates with a PC via a radio interface for protocol generation and data analysis.
The device supports measurements for rated residual currents of 10, 30, 100, 300 and 500 mA and provides measurement of trip current (IA), trip time (tA) at multiple multiples of IΔn (0.5, 1, 2, 5) and simultaneous IA/tA capture. It also measures protective conductor resistance (RE), touch voltage (UB) without tripping the RCD, AC voltage and frequency, and checks protective conductor connections. Results memory stores up to 990 cells and 10,000 entries, and included radio interface and professional PC software enable remote data transfer and report creation. The tester meets double insulation requirements and relevant safety categories for electrical test equipment and provides an IP67 enclosure rating.
Connect the tester to the installation according to the user manual: attach leads to the circuit under test and to the protective conductor where required. Select the appropriate RCD test function and set the desired multiple of IΔn or use the AUTO mode to run a predefined sequence of tests. Start the measurement; the instrument will apply the test current and record trip current, trip time and additional parameters. Use the simultaneous IA/tA function if both current and time must be captured during one actuation. After testing, transfer stored data to a PC using the supplied radio interface and the professional software to generate protocols and archive results.
Perform measurements in accordance with national standards and safety procedures. Ensure the installation is isolated or the test is carried out under safe conditions, use appropriate personal protective equipment and verify connections before applying test currents. Calibrate and service the instrument as recommended by the manufacturer.
