It pairs a bright F1.8 maximum aperture with advanced G Master optical design to deliver high resolution, controlled aberrations and smooth bokeh in a compact, lightweight body suitable for handheld shooting and travel.

Advantages

Two extreme aspherical (XA) elements and multiple ED glass elements provide outstanding corner-to-corner resolution and suppress color fringing, while Nano AR Coating II reduces flare and ghosting. The compact construction uses two XD Linear Motors for fast, precise and quiet autofocus suitable for both stills and video. A large F1.8 aperture and a high-curvature XA front element improve low-light and night-sky performance, and fluorine coatings plus dust- and moisture-resistant design increase reliability in outdoor conditions.
