Spectrum HIPS-X 1.75 mm White 1 kg is a high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) filament for FDM/FFF 3D printing offered on a 1 kg spool. Intended for general-purpose printing and as a dissolvable support for ABS-compatible workflows, this white filament provides improved dimensional stability and matte surfaces with reduced layer visibility. It is supplied vacuum-packed with a desiccant on a transparent spool and is suitable for prototypes, support structures and model parts that require mechanical finishing or impact resistance.

Advantages

Spectrum HIPS-X delivers high impact and compression resistance while exhibiting lower processing shrinkage than typical ABS. Printed parts show matte, low-gloss surfaces and allow common post-processing methods such as drilling, turning, milling or sanding. The filament is fully soluble in D-Limonene when used as a support material for ABS, enabling clean support removal. How to use

Load the filament onto a compatible FDM/FFF printer with a 1.75 mm feed. Select print settings compatible with HIPS and your ABS main material when used as a soluble support: set nozzle temperature and bed temperature according to your printer and material recommendations, and adjust print speed up to 100 mm/s depending on part geometry. When used as a support for ABS, print the ABS and HIPS supports in the same print job and remove supports after printing by dissolving HIPS in D-Limonene. Store the filament sealed with desiccant when not in use to prevent moisture uptake.

Usage recommendations

For best results when using HIPS-X as a support material for ABS, calibrate extrusion and retraction settings to minimise ooze and stringing, and use D-Limonene in a well-ventilated area for support dissolution. When printing standalone HIPS parts, allow for adequate cooling and use appropriate bed adhesion methods to reduce warping. Keep filament vacuum-packed with a desiccant until ready to print.
