3D printing filament Spectrum ABS Smart 1.75 mm — Orange, 1 kg
Spectrum Filaments ABS Smart 1.75 mm — Orange, 1 kg is a 1 kg spool of ABS filament designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers. This Smart ABS formulation offers improved processing compared to standard ABS: lower shrinkage, reduced emissions during printing, increased flow rate and a glossy surface finish. The filament is suitable for durable, impact-resistant and heat-tolerant prototypes, functional parts and end-use components. The spool is vacuum-sealed with a desiccant and labeled with material type, diameter and recommended printing temperature; package weight is approximately 1.4 kg.
Spectrum Smart ABS combines high impact resistance and relatively high rigidity with processing improvements that simplify printing. Compared with conventional ABS it exhibits reduced shrinkage, a shiny printed surface, a lower recommended printing temperature and increased melt flow, which help achieve more reliable layer adhesion and dimensional accuracy. The material retains properties at temperatures down to −40°C and can be post-processed by mechanical finishing or acetone vapor smoothing for very smooth surfaces.
Load the 1.75 mm Spectrum Smart ABS filament onto an FDM/FFF printer designed to work with ABS materials. Use the manufacturer's recommended nozzle and bed temperatures printed on the spool label as a starting point; adjust print settings for optimal layer adhesion and dimensional accuracy. A heated bed and enclosure are recommended to reduce warping. After printing, parts can be mechanically finished or smoothed with controlled acetone vapor treatment where appropriate. Store unopened spools sealed with the desiccant in a dry place; once opened, keep the spool in airtight packaging or a filament box with desiccant to avoid moisture uptake.
For best results, print Smart ABS with a heated bed, consider using an enclosure to maintain ambient temperature, and tune flow and temperature settings to balance surface gloss and dimensional stability. When performing acetone vapor smoothing, follow safety procedures and ensure adequate ventilation; test on sample prints before treating final parts.
