Spectrum Filaments PLA Premium Polylactic Acid Brown 1 kg Chocolate Brown is a 1 kg spool of PLA 3D printing filament formulated for general-purpose FDM/FFF printing. Based on polylactide, the filament is fully biodegradable and designed to deliver low shrinkage, good bed adhesion and high surface detail. The Chocolate Brown colour uses concentrated pigments chosen to provide an even, intense tone across prints, and the filament is supplied vacuum-packed on a transparent spool with a desiccant to preserve printability.
The filament exhibits low processing shrinkage, which reduces warping on larger builds and is beneficial for printers without an enclosed chamber. It offers reliable adhesion to standard build plates and consistent extrusion for accurate surface finish and fine detail reproduction. As a polylactide-based material, it combines ease of printing with biodegradability, making it suitable for a wide range of non-load-bearing applications.
Load the filament onto the spool holder ensuring smooth free rotation. Feed the filament into the printer’s extruder according to your printer manufacturer’s guidance. Use standard PLA printing temperatures and settings appropriate for your nozzle diameter and layer height; calibrate bed leveling and first-layer height to secure good adhesion. Allow printed parts to cool before removal to preserve surface detail. Store unused filament in its vacuum packaging with the included desiccant to prevent moisture uptake.
For optimal results, print with a heated bed set to typical PLA temperatures or use a light adhesive if your build plate requires it; avoid prolonged exposure to humid conditions and store the spool sealed when not in use. Adjust print speed and cooling to balance surface finish and layer bonding depending on model geometry.
