Filament Spectrum PLA Matt 1.75 mm Grey 1 kg – Polylactic Acid 1.75mm
Spectrum PLA Matt 1.75 mm Grey is a 1 kg spool of polylactic acid (PLA) filament designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers accepting 1.75 mm filament. The formulation has been modified to produce a matte surface finish that reduces shine and minimises visible layer lines on side surfaces. The filament retains typical PLA printing advantages such as easy extrusion, low warping and good interlayer and bed adhesion, while offering improved temperature and impact resistance and reduced brittleness compared with standard PLA.
The matte finish produces non-reflective prints that require less post-processing to hide layer lines. Spectrum PLA Matt prints reliably on standard desktop 3D printers and combines low shrinkage with consistent dimensional stability. The material offers improved toughness and thermal resistance relative to basic PLA formulations, while preserving straightforward print settings and good layer bonding.
Load the 1.75 mm filament into the printer according to the printer manufacturer’s instructions. Preheat the nozzle and print bed to temperatures recommended for PLA-based materials; adjust nozzle temperature and print speed as needed to achieve optimal surface finish and layer bonding for the matte formulation. Use standard PLA bed adhesion methods such as a heated bed, painter’s tape or glue stick when required. Monitor first layers to ensure proper adhesion and adjust Z-offset if necessary.
For best results, print with moderate nozzle temperatures and slower outer wall speeds to enhance the matte appearance and reduce visible layer seams. Store unopened spools in their original vacuum packaging with the desiccant; once opened keep the filament in a dry box or sealed bag with silica gel to minimise moisture uptake.
