Spectrum PLA Silk 1.75 mm — Aluminium Silver, 1 kg is a PLA-based 3D printing filament formulated to deliver a satin metallic appearance. The filament is supplied on a 1 kg spool and is intended for FDM/FFF printers with 1.75 mm extruders. It combines the dimensional stability and ease of printing typical for PLA with a silk finish that produces glossy, reflective surfaces suitable for decorative parts, visual models and prototypes where a metallic look is required.
This Spectrum PLA Silk filament offers consistent diameter and smooth extrusion for reliable layer deposition and good interlayer adhesion. The aluminium silver silk finish gives printed objects a satin metallic sheen without requiring post-processing metallization. It prints at standard PLA temperature ranges and is compatible with a wide range of FDM/FFF machines using 1.75 mm filament, making it convenient for both hobby and professional use.
Load the filament into a 3D printer with a 1.75 mm extruder following the printer manufacturer's filament loading procedure. Set nozzle temperature within the typical PLA range and adjust bed temperature and cooling according to the printer and part geometry. Print at moderate speeds to preserve the silk surface quality and ensure proper layer bonding. Allow completed parts to cool before removal to minimize deformation.
For best visual results, use a well-calibrated extrusion multiplier and moderate print speed. A heated bed set to a low PLA temperature or a suitable adhesion aid reduces warping on larger prints.
