Filament Spectrum PET-G MATT Black 1 kg — PETG printing material
Spectrum PET-G MATT Black 1 kg is a PETG-based 3D printing filament formulated to produce durable parts with a refined matte surface. Supplied as a single 1 kg spool in deep black, this Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) material combines the mechanical advantages of PETG—low shrinkage, good layer adhesion and ease of printing—with additives that reduce surface gloss and improve temperature and impact resistance.
The modified PET-G composition yields a high-quality matte finish that minimises the visibility of layer lines on side surfaces while retaining standard PETG benefits such as strong interlayer adhesion and low warping. Additives provide improved temperature resistance, increased impact strength and reduced brittleness compared with basic PETG grades. UV stabilisation helps to maintain colour and mechanical properties during extended indoor exposure.
Load the 1 kg spool into an FDM/FFF 3D printer configured for PETG-type materials. Use standard PETG printing parameters as a starting point: a heated bed and adequate nozzle temperature to ensure good flow and adhesion. Calibrate extrusion and bed levelling to obtain even matte side surfaces; fine-tuning of retraction and cooling settings can further reduce visible layer lines. Allow printed parts to cool gradually to minimise any residual internal stresses.
Print on a clean, level build surface with a moderate heated bed temperature and stable ambient conditions. For best matte appearance, avoid excessive part cooling during printing and adjust print speed to balance surface quality with build time. Post-processing such as light sanding or matte varnish is possible but normally not required for aesthetic presentation. Store spool in a dry, sealed container to prevent moisture uptake.
