3D printer filament Spectrum 81416 PLA Silk Vivid Lavender 1.75 mm 1 kg
Spectrum Filaments 81416 is a 1 kg spool of PLA Silk 3D printing filament in Vivid Lavender. The filament is made from polylactic acid (PLA) with a silk finish that gives prints a glossy, slightly pearlescent surface. It is designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers that use 1.75 mm filament and is suitable for creating decorative parts, models and prototypes where enhanced surface sheen is desired.
The silk PLA formulation produces smoother, glossier surfaces than standard matte PLA, improving the visual quality of decorative prints and display models. Being PLA-based, the filament is easy to print with on most consumer FDM/FFF machines at common PLA temperatures, and it requires no specialized hardware. The multicolour Vivid Lavender finish provides subtle color variation and a pearlescent effect that reduces the appearance of layer lines.
This PLA silk filament is not intended for high-temperature or load-bearing functional parts. PLA has lower heat resistance and mechanical strength compared with engineering plastics, so it may deform under sustained heat or heavy stress. The silk finish emphasizes surface sheen but does not significantly change basic PLA mechanical properties.
Load the 1.75 mm filament into any compatible FDM/FFF printer and set print temperatures typical for PLA (consult your printer or filament manufacturer's recommended settings). Use a stable build plate and appropriate adhesion aids if needed. Print speeds and temperatures may be adjusted to optimize surface gloss and reduce visible layer lines; slower speeds and slightly higher temperatures within PLA limits often improve the silk effect. Store the spool in a dry place or sealed container with desiccant to prevent moisture absorption.
For best results, start with standard PLA settings for your printer and fine-tune temperature and speed to enhance the silk finish; test a small sample print to confirm appearance and dimensional accuracy before producing final parts.
