Filament Spectrum TF-24009 — PLA Wood Ash 1.75 mm, 1 kg
Spectrum Filaments TF-24009 — PLA Wood Ash 1.75 mm, 1 kg is a wood-coloured Polylactic acid (PLA) filament formulated for FDM/FFF 3D printers. The filament comes on a 1 kg spool with a nominal diameter of 1.75 mm, offering consistent extrusion for decorative prints and functional prototypes that require a timber-like appearance. PLA material ensures easy printing with low warping and compatibility with a wide range of desktop 3D printers.
The Wood Ash colour provides a natural, lumber-like finish without post-processing stains, allowing models to display visible grain-like textures and a muted, warm tone. As a PLA filament, it is dimensionally stable, has low shrinkage and prints reliably at typical PLA temperatures. The 1.75 mm diameter is compatible with most hobby and prosumer extruders, and the 1 kg spool provides a substantial supply for medium-sized projects.
Load the 1.75 mm PLA filament into a compatible FDM/FFF printer according to the printer manufacturer’s filament loading procedure. Recommended print temperature ranges for PLA generally fall between 190–220 °C; start in the middle of the range and adjust by +5/−5 °C to optimize adhesion and surface finish for your specific machine and nozzle size. Use a heated bed set to 40–60 °C or a build surface suitable for PLA to reduce first-layer issues. Print speeds of 40–60 mm/s are typical, but slower speeds can improve visible surface texture when aiming to emphasize a wood-like appearance. Allow printed parts to cool before removal to reduce deformation.
To achieve the best wood-like finish, print with moderate layer height (0.1–0.2 mm) and consider gentle sanding and clear or matte sealant if a smoother or protected surface is required. Store unopened spools in a dry, cool place and reseal opened filament in a desiccant bag to maintain print quality.
