Filament Spectrum SILK PLA 1.75 mm — Spicy Copper, 1 kg
Spectrum SILK PLA 1.75 mm — Spicy Copper is a 1 kg spool of silk-finish PLA filament designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers. The filament produces parts with a glossy, satin-like surface that enhances the visual appeal of decorative prints, display models and presentation prototypes. It is formulated for easy feeding in printers that accept 1.75 mm filament and prints at moderate temperatures, allowing clean layer lines and reliable dimensional results for hobby and small-batch applications.
This Spicy Copper silk PLA offers a smooth, lustrous finish that reduces the need for post-processing on visible surfaces. The material combines the ease of printing typical for PLA with the optical benefits of a silk effect, providing good layer adhesion and low warping. Its recommended printing temperature range ensures consistent extrusion and good bridging performance for common desktop 3D printers.
Install the Spectrum SILK PLA filament on your printer spool holder and feed it through the extruder according to your machine's standard procedure for 1.75 mm filament. Set the nozzle temperature between 190 and 220 °C and use a print bed temperature appropriate for PLA or leave the bed unheated if your printer and adhesion method allow. Adjust print speed, retraction and cooling settings to achieve the best surface finish; active part cooling is generally beneficial for silk PLA to preserve details and reduce stringing. Monitor the first layer for proper adhesion and make minor adjustments to bed leveling or nozzle height if necessary.
Store the filament in a dry place and reseal or use desiccant to limit moisture absorption. For optimal surface appearance, use moderate layer heights and slower print speeds where detail and sheen are important. When painting or gluing, lightly sand the surface if stronger adhesion or a matte finish is required. Follow your printer manufacturer's guidance for extruder maintenance and feed settings to ensure consistent results with 1.75 mm FILAMENT.
