3D printer filament Spectrum SILK PLA 1.75 mm Sapphire Blue 1 kg
Spectrum SILK PLA 1.75 mm Sapphire Blue is a 1 kg spool of PLA filament designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers that accept 1.75 mm material. The silk variant of PLA delivers a glossy, satin-like finish that enhances surface appearance without additional post-processing. Formulated from PLA, a biodegradable thermoplastic, this filament is suitable for printing detailed models, decorative parts and visual prototypes where appearance and surface quality are important.
The silk finish produces a smooth, reflective surface with subtle sheen that reduces the visibility of layer lines. PLA base material offers stable printing behavior, low warping and compatibility with a wide range of desktop 3D printers. The filament comes wound on a 1 kg spool and is ready for immediate use with standard extruders calibrated for 1.75 mm filament. Recommended printing temperature range supports consistent extrusion and good interlayer adhesion.
Load the filament into an FDM/FFF 3D printer configured for 1.75 mm filament. Set the nozzle temperature within the recommended range of 190–220 °C; adjust within this window according to your specific printer, nozzle size and print speed to achieve optimal flow. Use a heated bed if needed for adhesion, although PLA often prints well on a cool bed with appropriate build surface or adhesion aids. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings to reduce stringing and ensure clean detail reproduction. Store the spool in a dry environment when not in use to maintain filament quality.
For best surface quality when printing decorative parts, use moderate print speeds and layer heights between 0.1–0.2 mm, a well-tuned cooling fan, and a nozzle compatible with fine-detail work. Dry the filament if stored in humid conditions before printing to avoid bubbles and inconsistent extrusion.
